Steve Markle-Lead Pastor
Steve has been leading Sycamore Creek Church as Lead Pastor since August 2011, bringing over 30 years of full-time ministry experience. His passion for guiding others in faith is reflected in his leadership and commitment to the church community.
In 1990, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Sherri, and together they’ve been blessed with four children—Zac (and wife Emily), Tori (and husband Rex), Lexi (and husband Mitch), and Nic. Their joy has only grown with the arrival of four amazing grandchildren.
A true sports enthusiast, Steve enjoys watching, playing, and coaching. He's a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Baltimore Orioles. When he's not on the sidelines or in the stands, he loves relaxing with a good cup of coffee and cherishing time with his family.
Steve’s life is centered around faith, family, and community, and he leads with authenticity, warmth, and a heart for service.

Kristi Johnson-Director of Operations
Kristi has been a valued member of the Sycamore Creek Church staff since 1999. She plays a vital role in helping people get connected at SCC, managing the church's finances, overseeing Outreach programs, ensuring the facilities are well-maintained, and keeping the office running smoothly. Kristi loves all things organizing and planning and is rarely seen sitting still. Outside of work, Kristi enjoys anything adventurous, reading and spending time with her husband, Terry, her high school sweetheart, whom she married in 1993. Together, they have two sons, Tucker and Brock. Tucker is married to Anna, and they have a daughter, Ruby, who Kristi can't get enough of! Kristi and her family experienced a profound loss when their son, Brock, passed away on May 20, 2015, after battling an unknown autoimmune disease. To honor Brock’s memory and continue supporting the causes he loved, they established The BrockStrong Foundation, which carries on his legacy and impact.

Mitch Frost- Student Pastor
Mitch joined the Sycamore Creek team in August 2020 as the Student Pastor, stepping into a role that aligns perfectly with his passion for helping students encounter Jesus in meaningful and transformative ways. A graduate of Ohio Christian University with a degree in Student Ministry, Mitch is deeply committed to teaching God's Word and walking alongside students as they grow in their faith. His heart is to create an environment where young people feel seen, known, and empowered to pursue Jesus right where they are. Mitch married his wife, Lexi, in December 2020, and together they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Charlotte Jo, into the world in February 2023. Being a husband and father has added a new layer of joy and purpose to his life and ministry.
Outside of ministry, Mitch is an avid reader who loves diving into books that challenge and inspire him. He also enjoys staying active and is always up for a competitive game of pickleball—so if you’re looking for a fun challenge, he’s your guy!

Josiah Webster- Worship Pastor
Josiah joined the Sycamore Creek team in July 2023, bringing with him a deep passion for helping people connect with Jesus through authentic and meaningful worship. With over 10 years of worship experience, Josiah’s heart is to create spaces where people can encounter God and grow in their faith. Ministry runs deep in Josiah’s story. As a missionary kid, he grew up in Western Europe—calling Germany, Austria, and Switzerland home at different times. This unique upbringing shaped his perspective and love for connecting with people from all walks of life.
Josiah married his wife, Mallory, in 2018, and together they welcomed their spunky and joyful daughter, Luna, in 2021. Life with Luna keeps them on their toes, but they wouldn’t have it any other way!

Amy Shaw-KidzMin Director
Amy joined the Sycamore Creek team in 2001, bringing with her a heart for creating safe, fun, and engaging environments where kids can discover just how much God loves them—and how Jesus desires to be their forever friend. Her passion for nurturing faith in the next generation has made a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Amy married her husband, Bob, in 1993, and together they’ve built a beautiful family. They have three wonderful children—Rylie (married to Eric), Dylanie (married to Bryan), and Jazz (married to Olivia). Amy is also a proud Mimi to four amazing grandkids, and she treasures every moment spent with them.
Amy is one of the most creative people you will ever meet! When she’s not serving in ministry or hanging out with her family, you can find her staying active with workouts or enjoying quiet moments curled up with a good book and a warm cup of tea.

Anthony Rex- Discipleship Pastor
Anthony joined the Sycamore Creek team in December 2024, bringing with him nearly two decades of full-time ministry experience. Anthony has served in full time ministry since 2005 and passionate about witnessing the transformative power of the gospel.
In addition to his role at Sycamore Creek, Anthony serves as the Executive Director of BE1MK1, a disciple-making ministry focused on coaching and equipping leaders to live missionally with Jesus. His heart is to empower others to step boldly into their calling and cultivate communities rooted in faith and purpose. Anthony has been married to his wonderful wife, Lisa, since 2004, and together they have three incredible children—Elaina, Reid, and Nash. Family is his greatest joy, and he loves traveling with them, coaching his boys in sports, and tackling house projects. Anthony enjoys being part of conversations that spark growth and deeper understanding of Jesus. And while Anthony is known for starting podcasts with plenty of enthusiasm, finishing them is a story still in the making!

Kat joined the Sycamore Creek team in February 2023 as the Graphic Designer, bringing with her a creative eye and a talent for thinking outside the box. She is currently pursuing her Associate's Degree in Graphic Design at Columbus State and is set to graduate in the spring of 2025. Kat is passionate about using design to share the gospel, tell meaningful stories and create visuals that inspire and connect with others.
Outside of her creative work, Kat is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves exploring nature, hiking, and going on long walks with her dog, Rory. If her dog’s name didn’t give it away, she’s a big fan of Gilmore Girls and loves rewatching the series in her downtime.
Whether she’s designing graphics or adventuring outdoors, Kat approaches everything she does with creativity, curiosity, and a love for connecting her faith with her art.
